I have a photograph of my dad when he was in his early twenties. Not sure who took it - it may have been a self portrait. But it captures the essence of who he was (at least for me). That's what I shoot for when photographing people. I like natural better than posed, or at least a happy balance of both. But when I can capture someone's real "self" in a picture - that's what being a good photographer is in my mind.
Married to a beautiful/awesome/loving woman named Julie (really lucky to have found her). Two dogs, comfortable home, great friends. Photography has been a hobby for long time and a second career for more than a decade now. Bachelors degree in Business Administration, 27 years in the restaurant/hospitality business was the first part of my adult life. Have moved all over - lived in 10 states and one foreign county, and enjoyed all of it. Took some photo classes at Crealde in Winter Park, FL, but mostly self taught (with the help of several very talented photographer friends). I have photographed weddings, conventions, families, portraits, architecture and sporting events for a variety of clients. And am currently the President of the Orlando Camera Club (a great place to learn about photography!).
